McSEEP: 40 Years of Providing Environmental Education in McHenry County
The McHenry County Schools Environmental Education Program works in over fifty schools and over 25,000 students and teachers each year providing K-12 environmental lessons.  This year we will be expanding our lessons into pre-school with our new hands-on pre-school scientist program.  In addition we sponsor river testing for schools, groundwater festival with water quality professionals in the field, ecosystem sampling and restoration, the Trex Challenge (plastic collection competition) and data collection at schools.  Our motto for the year is what can you do to nurture nature?  This emphasizes the concept of "thinking locally, but acting locally."  McSEEP inspires awareness in the environmental so each individual can make a difference.
