This week the Bulletin writer is at a conference in Baltimore - hence the late edition - stayting in the Inner Harbor - the Navy Pier of Baltimore. This morning, I caught the sunrise over the harbor and saw the USS Constellation. For those of you who don't know, the Constellation was the last sail-only warship built by the US Navy. It served in the Mediterranean Squadron, the African Slave Trade Squadron, the Civil War and as a training vessel. It was recommissioned in WWII to serve as the port flagship for the commander of the Atlantic Fleet. |
