JEEP RAFFLE
We are lagging behind last years ticket sales to date.  We have to step it up to catch up.  First drawing is over.  The event at Ortman's was a success.  We are off and running.  Tom and Tim are always looking for help selling when the jeep is on display at local events.  Contact them for opportunities.  Hopefully the weather will be warming up which makes the job more enjoyable.

New members:  Our three newest members gave classification talks recently.  These are always some of our best programs.  We are from varied backgrounds, with a wide variety of experiences and yet we blend together to accomplish great things.  If you have not introduced yourself, make it a point to sit next to them at a meeting and share your background with them.

Last meeting was held at the Woodstock Public Library.  What a wonderful addition to the Woodstock environment.  It is a beautiful, functional, and much used facility.  I inquired as to their accepting used books for their book sales department.  They will accept up to 10 books a week, from an individual, providing the books are in good condition and recent publications.  These donations can be made on the first Wednesday of the month from 10AM until 2PM.  No textbooks are accepted.  The books are then sold at discounted prices as a fund raiser by the library.

As I am in the process of shrinking my personal library, I checked out other opportunities for book recycling in our area.  The McHenry County Defenders have a used bookstore in town that accepts donations.  There are several front yard miniature libraries that can be utilized for donating books--"Put one-Take one".  Some school libraries will accept books for their use.

Friday's meeting is back at the Woodstock Country Club.  Our meeting places during the month of January were excellent choices.  Thankyou to the meeting planners for the locations and especially for last Fridays' food choice.

First Friday will be held at "Winestock" on the square.  Come prepared to relax and enjoy the fellowship of the club.
