Last weeks Zoom meeting produced some break out room discussions. I chaired the Santa House room and we decided when the weather warms up we need to pay a visit to the North Pole (South side water treatment plant) and survey the hut. I am looking for volunteers to serve on the committee with me to decide what action to take as to changes in the Santa Hut. Another committee discussed how to honor our deceased members with some sort of tribute, be it a physical item such as a park bench with attached plaques or a scholarship or grant of some kind. Please be thinking about options.
Denise in her presentation (nice job) mentioned the Woodstock England club that some of our members visited many years ago. The club eventually folded, but has recently come to life again. We discussed the possibility of a Zoom meeting with the Woodstock England Club. It would take some arranging due to the time differences, but certainly doable. The book hand out at the food distribution event reportedly went well thanks to Jean's organization.
Country Boy Ramblings: The Robins came back this week so I guess it's official, Spring is here. Unfortunately they were accompanied by the cow birds and the starlings. It's still early, but a good time to pick up the yard. Crocus are blooming and the daffodils and tulips are up. Good Friday is potato planting time so get the garden ready. Several years ago I reclaimed the woods on the old farm I grew up on, cleaning out the Buckthorn, Honeysuckle, and Multiflora rose. Now it's a great Spring walk to see the wild flowers that have reappeared after all these past years. Good time to walk. Anytime is a good time to walk, but you can't do it from the easy chair in your living room.
