CCH Committee meeting was held via Zoom last night and John led committee members in a discussion of many items dealing with CCH. It's a great program and we are making plans for next year combining procedures from the past with our changes in operations this past year. The project leaders are doing a terrific job planning for another successful event. Remembering how it all started and now facing a $75,000 budget for the project is truly amazing. What a wonderful project that exemplifies the ideals of Rotary.
Ortman's has volunteered to host a fund raising event for us probably some time in July. If anyone has ideas for a fund raising activity to be held at the event, please let John know. He is going to be meeting with the Ortmans to discuss the event.
This will probably replace our Christmas in July run through Woodstock.
Country Ramblings: Warm weather is here and the outdoors is showing it's Spring Fashion. The flowering trees and the early Spring bulbs are a welcome site. We even have sound effects. This morning I went outside early and could plainly hear a Turkey gobbling, Sandhill Cranes booming, Geese honking and a variety of song birds singing. None of these big birds were around here when I grew up. And the real bonus this year is we have a pair of Eagles nesting in the Conservation Property across the road from our house. We have a telescope set up aimed at the nest and we have been watching the parents raise the youngsters. Neat! I saw an article the other day stating that the population of nesting Eagles in the US was in the hundreds at one time and is now in the 10's of thousands. Nice recovery once DDT was banned.
Get out and walk and sell tickets. It will make Tim's toe feel better if we sell out the tickets.
