As many have said, we are in unprecedented times, facing a rapidly changing situation. I want to update you on a few evolving situations:
- CLUB MEETINGS - Due to the Governor's order closing all restaurants and bars through the end of March, the March 27th meeting will be cancelled as well. The board will meet this Friday morning and we will discuss possible alternatives should these closures continue into April.
- FIFTIES FUNDRAISER - Our spring fundraiser falls within the CDC's 8-week period to cancel all events over 50 people. We will POSTPONE our May 9th fundraiser until later this year. The committee is working with the fairgrounds to identify an alternate date. Please watch for more details.
- CHRISTMAS IN JULY 5K - We have decided to put this event on hiatus for the year. While the date is well outside the cancellation guidelines, to make this event a success, we would need to be soliciting sponsorships right now, and it seems like a very bad time to approach most local businesses for donations.
In the meantime, Jackie is working on some possibilities for service projects in conjunction with the Red Cross, which would be operated within all CDC and State guidelines. Please watch your emails for more details.
