The board held a special meeting Zoom and made a few decisions:
First of all, we have decided to cancel our fundraiser for 2020. Many nonprofits are in the same position as we are, unable to hold their regular spring fundraising event. Unlike many others, we as a Rotary Club do not need to worry about making payroll or rent or any other fixed costs. We will step aside this year and allow those organizations that are in more critical need raise money this year.
We voted to donate $1,000 to from our Club to Project Front Line: McHenry County, a grassroots organization to help support front line workers in the COVID-19 fight.
We will continue our weekly Zoom meetings on Fridays at noon, but there will be no attendance taken. We encourage all to participate if you are able.
Finally, the Moose will be sponsoring a blood drive on Sunday, April 5th from 8 to 11 am. Please know that all appropriate social distancing requirements will be maintained for the drive.
