President Mimi asked me to share this in the Bulletin:

"I listened to the Facebook live series this morning with Rotary International President Holger Knaack.

He was asked about strategic planning for Rotary International.  He said that strategic planning never ends, it is a process.  He noted that every club is different and needs to form their own strategic plan.  This last year we learned to do service  in a different way.  Rotarians have the ability to adapt.  Rotary is an ideal platform to be connected to our community and the world to look for lasting changes.  We also build friendships and integrity.  One of his goals is to make Rotary more attractive for young members.  We offer service opportunities around the world -wheelchairs, water projects, literacy, etc. -but also opportunities for personal growth and leadership."

I will add in an author's note - I think we saw all of those elements these past 3 months with CCH - we planned, we adapted, we connected to the community, and we made changes. We did with old and new friends. We had a group of college students sort and pack the toys. I am confident they saw the meaning of Rotary and some will one day be Rotarians. I know that I can say I have grown through the past few months through my involvement in CCH and hopefully have improved in my leadership skills (at the expense of the Club mind you.)

I hold this club as a model - for clubs big and small - at what being a Rotarian means and what can be done for our community and the world. Go team!
