I asked the Board for news to pass along in this week's Bulletin. Chris sent this note along about Riko.
Riko has returned to Japan... she is so very sorry that she was unable to say a proper goodbye and thank each and everyone of you for her support and this gift of opportunity to be an Exchange Student to Woodstock, IL. She was ordered home by her Rotary District Governor, she didn’t want to go, there was so much yet to do... but the impact of this Global Virus changed everything. Limiting travel and interactions locally and school closure. She didn’t want to be a burden.
Despite social distancing protocols and the risks, my last act was to give Riko a hug, she was so very sad, hard to see on a young woman that had an ever present smile. She will forever be part of our circle.
