This year the high schools are doing prom a little differently. Woodstock and Woodstock North are hosting a joint prom in the Woodstock Square. And through the work of Jackie and Community Service our club is sponsoring the event with $1,000. Our support helps offset the costs for the food, tent, and dj. The food is coming from Public House, La Placita and Sugar Circle. It has been a tough year for the students with no real fundraising to support their prom. We get to support them while they support our local restaurants.
And something else is coming clear. Luke was asking the Club for songs under the guise of future fun & frolics. Really he is dusting off the turntable, breaking out the blue suit with the superfly lapels, the ruffle shirt and the big bowtie and spinning some tunes for the high schoolers. He is using us to build the set list. Genius! I already hear a little The Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult, perhaps Led Zepplin's Stairway to Heaven, Boogie Wonderland by Earth Wind and Fire and for those Disco affiiciando's ABBA's Dancing Queen and Stayin Alive by the incomparable BeeGees. The kids will LOVE it!
