Remember, as Greeter this week, you need to arrive at Woodstock Country Club early to greet members, visiting Rotarians, and guests (collect guest lunch fee of $14.00). You also provide the pre-meal prayer, check attendance, announce guests and visiting Rotarians, manage the marble drawing and provide "Fun & Frolics." If you are unable to fulfill your greeter obligation, please contact the next person in the greeter rotation to take your place.
The holiday season brought about a lot of opportunities for our Interactors to help out within their community. The Interactors took the $1,600 raised from coin wars and went shopping for kids their ages who benefit from Christmas Clearinghouse. Later that week, students helped to pack those gifts with community members to be delivered to families in need. After winter break students worked hard to raise money to help eradicate Polio with their Purple Pinkie Project. Students at Creekside paid $0.50 to have their pinkies painted before school and during lunches. Why paint your pinkies purple you may ask? Overseas, when a child is vaccinated, they put a purple stamp on their little finger. So each pinkie painted is a step closer to making Polio history. As we look towards February the Interactors are working in collaboration with our Student Council to start a kindness initiative - details to come.
Thomas has moved to his new host family, the Scheibes. The contact information is listed above. They have two sons, one who is in college and the other is Bartek who attends Woodstock North High School with Thomas. Both Thomas and Bartek played soccer for the Thunder this last fall.
Please find time to spend a couple of hours with Thomas. It doesn’t matter whether it is dinner out, dinner at your home, visit your business or help transport him to a Rotary District event. You won’t regret the time with this impressive young man!
