Current Events: I missed last weeks meeting as I was out of town. But I attended the previous meeting and heard Hugh's report from the Christmas Clearing House Committee. The committee seems to be moving along well and preliminary reports seem to indicate the community is pleased with our work. Further committee meetings will formalize a recommendation to be presented to the club. Get your reservations in for the installation of officers dinner to Marlene. Laura is looking for members interested in hosting the first Friday social event. And talk to Wendy about helping out with the Christmas in July run. Country Ramblings: I spent last week in Canada where the Temperature was 80 degrees on 2 days. Warmer than here. There flowers and flowering trees are as well along as ours were here. We definitely are having a late Spring. It was nice to see that some of the water filled low spots were gone when I got home. Lots of late planting going on in field and garden. Hopefully the weather will even out and we can enjoy a normal summer. |
I am sure most of our members already have the ClubRunner application on their smart phones since it has been discussed on several occasions. Just in case there are few members who haven't downloaded the application, I just want to highlight one of the benefits. The application has a current photo listing of members and when you touch the name/photo, it will provide the member's address and phone numbers. You can then touch the phone number and call the member. No need to remember phone numbers and the listing is as up to date. One little caveat that Chris Cantwell discovered, you need to touch the refresh button (see red circle on photo) to verify the information is current.
