You will be required to answer questions. There is space on the makeup request form for up to three articles to be reviewed, however you will need to read more than three to meet your 30 minute visit obligation.

At the end of your 30 minute visit click on Make-up Request Form from the drop-down menu at top of page OR the bottom of each make-up program.

Read Makeup Request Form carefully, and follow instructions. A Make-Up Form will appear once you press the SUBMIT button (one time only) and an email copy will be sent to the email address you provided.

Once your make-up appears, if you know the email address, you can also click on File, Send and email a copy to your club secretary.

Rotarians, and guests (collect guest lunch fee of $20.00). You also provide the pre-meal prayer, check attendance, announce guests and visiting Rotarians, manage the marble drawing and provide "Fun & Frolics." September 25 (Thursday): Charity Burger Night at The Woodstock Moose Lodge to benefit our Rotary Club! Come out for some delicious burgers prepared by incredible volunteers from Moose. All proceeds directly benefit our work in our community. 5:00-7:00. Order and take ‘em to-go, or stick around for some great fun, conversation, and camaraderie.
September 27 (Saturday): Woodstock Late Night Flea Market Fest; 3P – midnight; McHenry County Fairgrounds; $5 admission; find all the details here.
Our regular meeting was on Wednesday, August 27 at Squire on the Square at 5:30 p.m. Remember: all are welcome! Whether you are a regular Friday meeting member and just want to see what the Happy Hour Extension group is up to, introduce yourself to our group, or invite friends and acquaintances to the group, we’d love it! Our next one is on September 24.

Discussion of Club Runner, its capabilities, and the importance of keeping info there updated (especially your photo)
Phil McKown and Chris Cantwell provided updates on their respective areas of International Service and Interact Club(s).
Joe McDonough gave the members present at little information about his priorities and areas of focus for this year, including how best to facilitate the Happy Hour Extension group to be participatory and “do more” as Rotary members; supporting the Interact Club to get “off the ground,” especially since Key Club is no longer at the high schools; getting some shirts (or other swag) ordered so that we (Noon Club + Happy Hour Group) feel visually more cohesive; and bringing global initiatives to the forefront (and encouraging all members to explore My.Rotary.org where so much useful and important information is housed and readily accessible).
September 5 (Friday): We not only have a “First Friday” at Kingston Lanes on this day (remember, we try to gather around 5:30 for these), but during our regular noon meeting, we are welcoming a few members from the Barrington Rotary Club.
September 11 (Thursday): Christmas Clearing House (CCH) meeting at 7:00 p.m. at Independence Health & Therapy.
September 12 (Friday): Ladies of Rotary (members; partners; friends; spouses) will be “taking a hike.” LOL. Join in a Lake Geneva area walk / hike following the regular noon meeting. Details were sent by Laura via email on August 31. Look for the subject line: “Rotary Ladies Hike” for all the details.
September 17 (Wednesday): Our PI (Public Image) Committee meets at 5:30P at Sofie’s
September 21 (Sunday) is “Taste of Evanston” (full details here) hosted by the Evanston Lighthouse Rotary Club. Can’t attend? Think about buying a raffle ticket or two on the website.
October 4 (Saturday): Al Schmitt’s “Rockin’ Barn Party” that we are all invited to each year! Music, friends (old & new), food, good times. More details will come soon from Al, so stay tuned!
October 10 (Friday): Our Rotary Club’s Golf Event (follows the regular lunch on that date). Stay tuned for more details and information from Al & Lynn.
Our very own John Hegner has two upcoming performances, so mark your calendars for Saturday, November 1 and Saturday, December 6. The November 1 performance is at Woodstock Opera House (where he’ll perform some original music (listen to some here)) and the December 6 performance is at Stage Left (where he and Cassandra Vohs-Demann will sing some holiday-themed melodies).
November 26, 28, 29 (Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday): Tag Days. We will definitely need volunteers. Remember, this is a great way to engage with other groups, friends, family members. Youth / church groups would make for great volunteers, so if you know of anyone in and around town who would be wonderful at helping on Tag Days, start those conversations now.
December 20 (Saturday): “D-Day” = Delivery Day for Christmas Clearing House (CCH). All hands on deck! What is D-Day? What is CCH? Come to the September 11 meeting for all the information!
At the Friday, August 29 Noon Meeting, the guest speakers were Bill Linardos and his son, Billy. They spoke about their joint venture (with the Karas Restaurant Group) of Squire on The Square, the ups & downs of opening the restaurant (especially because of it being in such a historic space that was obviously not originally intended to be a dining facility), and what it takes to keep the business running smoothly (like hiring and retaining approximately 50 employees). Billy is excited about the month of September because for the whole month, they will be celebrating “Greek Fest,” where diners can experience “authentic Greek-inspired specials, sip on refreshing drinks, and enjoy the festive vibes that will transport you straight to the Mediterranean.” It was wonderful to hear from the Linardos family members, and of course we thanked them for letting us use the “bar’s side room” for our 1x monthly Satellite meetings.
And yes, I am again participating in Walk to End Alzheimer’s, so looking for anyone who would like to join me at the Walk in Crystal Lake on Sunday, October 5. It’s a short, brisk walk around downtown Crystal Lake, and we (my team and friends) join for a light lunch afterwards, usually at Rookies on Williams Street. Friday (but you knew that) September 5 at Kingston Lanes. We typically start gathering at 5:30, though no one is telling you NOT to come a little early. Go to the outside bar behind the building (by the volleyball courts and bag courts). The bar is covered in case of rain and may not have a spot for everyone underneath. BUT never fear, there is an excellent space and bar area in the front of the bowling alley - INSIDE! Put this on your calendar.
