How To Complete A Make-Up

1

Read a variety of current articles in our Programs section and/or choose articles from our Archived Programs list and/or information from our Avenues of Service pages. You will be required to answer questions.  There is space on the makeup request form for up to three articles to be reviewed, however you will need to read more than three to meet your 30 minute visit obligation.

2

At the end of your 30 minute visit click on Make-up Request Form from the drop-down menu at top of page OR the bottom of each make-up program.

3

Read Makeup Request Form carefully, and follow instructions. A Make-Up Form will appear once you press the SUBMIT button (one time only) and an email copy will be sent to the email address you provided.

PRINT YOUR MAKE-UP FORM

Once your make-up appears, if you know the email address, you can also click on File, Send and email a copy to your club secretary.

Remember, as Greeter this week, you need to arrive at Woodstock Country Club early to greet members, visiting Rotarians, and guests (collect guest lunch fee of $14.00).  You also provide the pre-meal prayer, check attendance, announce guests and visiting Rotarians, manage the marble drawing and provide "Fun & Frolics."  If you are unable to fulfill your greeter obligation, please contact the next person in the greeter rotation to take your place.

Mike Moan said it all last week about the Beach Party.  Time for action People.  We need totals turned in so event bulletins can be prepared.

Nature report:  Get out side.  Everything is happening these last few days.  Turkeys, Pheasants, Sand Hill Cranes are all calling.  Mating calls from the song birds fill the air as nesting sites are being chosen.  'Fruit trees are about to bloom.  The first of the wild flowers are opening up; Trout Lillies, Hepatica, Toad Trillium, Dutchmans Britches.  Get out and enjoy the experience before the mosquitoes show up!

Big Brother Big Sisters
If you are looking for a way to give back to the community Big Brothers and Big Sisters along with District 200 have a great opportunity for you.  Big Brothers and Big Sisters is coming to District 200 starting with a lunch time mentoring program at Westwood Elementary School.  Big Brothers and Big Sisters is looking for people to serve in this program.  If you are interested or know someone who is interested please contact Karen Atkinson at karen.atkinson@bbbsmchenry.org or email Mike Moan at mmoan@wcusd200.org.  This is a great opportunity to give back to our community and our schools.
Host Family
Host Family Needed!

As he has done for the past weeks, Chris reminded the Club on Friday that we need the third and final host family for Thomas. It is down to the wire. If you or someone you know is able to step up please contact Chris ASAP.
Beach Party 2019
Beach Party! Beach Party! Beach Party!

It is only 31 days away!

We learned Friday that only 8 tickets had been sold. That's about 2% of our goal! Get your tickets sold and the info in to Laurie!

And for the hundreds of people that will come because we sold those tickets we need to have great ways for them to give their money:

  • Have you thought of a live auction item?
    • Major League sports ticket donations
    • Weekend away in a major US city - donate air miles, hotel gift card, limo, restaurant gift cards
    • Do you know of someone who has timeshare to share?  A summer/winter home to share?  Ask for it.
    • Weekend to NAPA Valley.  Sonoma County.  San Francisco.  There is wine AND beer out there.
    • NY NY weekend.
    • Dinner for 6 in your home.  Dinner for 6 at a great local restaurant.
    • Dinner Cruise on Lake Michigan.
    • Think of something that is not readily available, unique and an experience to remember.
  • How many basket items have you solicited?  We are going to bring back the silent auction for the top 10 baskets items.  Get yours on that list!
  • Remember it takes all of us to have a successful event.  ALL. OF. US.  Every year someone is unable to attend, that is life and it is OK.  Yet we still have the prep work to do:  Live auction items, silent auction items, invite guests, etc.  Try and keep Friday of the event weekend open for decorating duty.

The work of our club - the grants to the community and to international projects, our backpack program at Woodstock High School, Operation Warmth, RYLA, Peace Essays - just to list a few things is funded through this event. The better we do the more we can do.
