Two New Projects for our Club-- $2,000.00 sent for Educating Youth in Kampala, Uganda. This project involves installing science labs at the Candle Light High School. The Chemistry and Biology Lab will provide hands-on learning in chemistry experiments and biology studies, building a foundation for medicine, health, and life sciences careers. A couple of years ago we participated in setting up their IT Lab. and… $2,000.00 sent to ShelterBox USA. Because the need for housing is different in the U.S. compared to third world countries, the emphasis will be on Shelterkits (tarpaulins, saws, hammers, nails, etc.) and household goods (pots & pans, water purification systems, blankets, etc.). Shelterbox will be relying on local volunteers and established partnerships with Rotary Clubs and other disaster agencies in order to be able to respond rapidly and use local knowledge to keep distribution costs at a minimum. |
