How To Complete A Make-Up

1

Read a variety of current articles in our Programs section and/or choose articles from our Archived Programs list and/or information from our Avenues of Service pages. You will be required to answer questions.  There is space on the makeup request form for up to three articles to be reviewed, however you will need to read more than three to meet your 30 minute visit obligation.

2

At the end of your 30 minute visit click on Make-up Request Form from the drop-down menu at top of page OR the bottom of each make-up program.

3

Read Makeup Request Form carefully, and follow instructions. A Make-Up Form will appear once you press the SUBMIT button (one time only) and an email copy will be sent to the email address you provided.

PRINT YOUR MAKE-UP FORM

Once your make-up appears, if you know the email address, you can also click on File, Send and email a copy to your club secretary.

Remember, as Greeter this week, you need to arrive early to ZOOM members, visiting Rotarians, and guests (collect guest lunch fee of $15.00).  You also provide the pre-meal prayer, check attendance, announce guests and visiting Rotarians, manage the marble drawing and provide "Fun & Frolics."  If you are unable to fulfill your greeter obligation, please contact the next person in the greeter rotation to take your place.

Staycation!
The border into Canada is closed to nonessential travel.  It came as no surprise to many people when the federal government announced last month that the Canada-U.S. land border — which closed on March 21 to non-essential traffic — would remain shut until at least Aug. 21

Canadians can still fly to the U.S., but that rule isn't reciprocal: Canada prohibits U.S. visitors from entering via all modes of transport.  Canada and the U.S. review their border closure agreement every 30 days. Several experts in different fields have told CBS News that they predict the border won't reopen until sometime next year.

So this was a great opportunity to explore McHenry County.  While we did bump out of the county a couple of times, we enjoyed kayaking around Crystal Lake.  Did you know there is a specified direction motorized boat traffic must travel when on Crystal Lake?  And for a completely different experience, we rented a pontoon boat on Lake Geneva for an afternoon.  On a Wednesday.  Fortunately, the lake traffic was minimal and you could travel in any direction you wanted to.  Both lake adventures were relaxing, fun and different.

A trip back from Lake Geneva would not be complete unless one stopped in Hebron at The Dari!  When was the last time you had a chocolate malt so thick it was a difficult pull to get it up the straw?  Route 47 and 173 is a very busy intersection!

And the ultimate staycation activity:  TIE DIE SHIRTS!!!  You'll have to wait until the next First Friday to see it in person.  Art was not my major (or minor...) and I know even my grandchildren's shirts turned out better than mine.  I was not a child of the 60's, so there!  But hey, it was a very fun activity.

ZOOM Meetings continue
This Friday, 8/14/2020, we are going to continue to meet via Zoom.  We will not be meeting in person.  Here is the link Mimi sent out:
