Remember, as Greeter this week, you need to arrive at Woodstock Country Club early to greet members, visiting Rotarians, and guests (collect guest lunch fee of $14.00). You also provide the pre-meal prayer, check attendance, announce guests and visiting Rotarians, manage the marble drawing and provide "Fun & Frolics." If you are unable to fulfill your greeter obligation, please contact the next person in the greeter rotation to take your place.
For your information on why we all had a long weekend . Labor Day pays tribute to the achievements of American workers and is traditionally observed on the first Monday in September. It was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century and became a federal holiday in 1894 when President Grover Cleveland signed a law making the first Monday in September of each year a national holiday.
This Friday is the annual Tom Nuelle Golf Outing. The golf outing will start after the regular Friday club meeting. After the the golfers finish there will be a 10th hole celebration which will merge into the monthly first Friday get together for all other club members. The time is fluid at this depending on how efficient the golf contestants are on the course. All Schmitt estimates drinks and snacks would start about 4:30 - 5:00 PM and will continue until till the last person standing. It will be fun to see who the new team to share the coveted Golden Hacker Award will be.
Our Rotary Exchange Student this year is Riko Fugita. Riko is attending Woodstock High School and her first host family is the Gilmore Family. Be sure to come to meet and greet Riko.
