Make-Up Online

Rotary eClub One
How To Complete A Make-Up

1

Read a variety of current articles in our Programs section and/or choose articles from our Archived Programs list and/or information from our Avenues of Service pages. You will be required to answer questions.  There is space on the makeup request form for up to three articles to be reviewed, however you will need to read more than three to meet your 30 minute visit obligation.

2

At the end of your 30 minute visit click on Make-up Request Form from the drop-down menu at top of page OR the bottom of each make-up program.

3

Read Makeup Request Form carefully, and follow instructions. A Make-Up Form will appear once you press the SUBMIT button (one time only) and an email copy will be sent to the email address you provided.

PRINT YOUR MAKE-UP FORM

Once your make-up appears, if you know the email address, you can also click on File, Send and email a copy to your club secretary.

Remember, as Greeter this week, you need to arrive early to ZOOM members, visiting Rotarians, and guests (collect guest lunch fee of $15.00).  You also provide the pre-meal prayer, check attendance, announce guests and visiting Rotarians, manage the marble drawing and provide "Fun & Frolics."  If you are unable to fulfill your greeter obligation, please contact the next person in the greeter rotation to take your place.

Stories
Club events.
I left some of last weeks bulletin as a reminder of areas that need volunteer help.  Also as a reminder, keep an eye on the left side of the bulletin each week for up coming events.  Laura does a nice job of editing that list.  I also encourage our members that have not been tuning in on Zoom to do so.  It is easy to do once you have done it the first time.  If you are still hesitant to attempt it, call Marlene and she will walk you thru the procedure.  If Larry Hansen can master this technological gambit then you can too.  No offense Larry!

We also need to remember our members that are ailing.  Al hopefully is recovering nicely.  Ann was able to get out and walk again for a mile +.  Miles is coming down the home stretch with his Chemo treatments.  John has been a great Dad during this ordeal.  Pastor Tom continues to regain his strength and revel in his successful treatment.  The rest of us have no complaints.  Life is good.

Country Ramblings:  Warm days and cool nights signal Fall has arrived.  Great time to be outside and walk.  Lots of color will be showing up shortly.  The Conservation District properties are great places to spend time walking and viewing nature or better yet communing with nature.  My son, Michael, attended a small college in Northern Wisconsin which is very environmentally oriented.  I get news letters from them every so often with interesting articles and tid bits of information.  This past week I got a letter with a quote from a poem written by Gary Snyder in his collection called "Turtle Island".  It was written in 1974, a time of societal turmoil.  I thought it was appropriate for our current times.

     one word to you, to
     you and your children:

     stay together
     learn the flowers
     go light

An elegant reminder of what sustains us in the face of significant challenges - community, an intimate knowledge of our place in the world, the persistent proliferation of beauty and an ability to shed the trappings that weigh us down.  Stimulating thoughts to ponder.  As John would say---Peace.

An Early Christmas
It is that time of year - our Community Grant Program needs you!

Keep your eye out for an email recruiting a few elves to read the applications and help make decisions on who was naughty and who was nice. Not really, all of the organizations that are serving our community are nice and worthy of our support and for some it will be an early Christmas! You can be a part of that joyful event.
Rail Fest
On October 10 and 11, the Square is hosting an event - Woodstock Rail Fest. And is looking for volunteers to help with crowd control. Consider it practice for working Stage Left for Santa in December.  Click on this link to see available time slots and sign up to help.  Our downtown businesses need us.

Rotary Learning Center
One of the goals in our breakout session, 10 days ago, was to get our members aware and check out the resource for the Rotary International Learning Center so we can all become more informed of Rotary.

Learn everywhere and anytime with Rotary’s Learning Center. Take courses, find resources, connect with an online community, talk with other registrants and course moderators, customize your user profile, and track your progress. Sign in with your My Rotary account at learn.rotary.org/members/learn/catalog, or find the link on My Rotary under the Learning & Reference tab.  my.rotary.org/en/learning-reference

Many of the courses are just 5 minutes in length so take a few minutes to learn more about Rotary, you will be glad you did!
