How To Complete A Make-Up

1

Read a variety of current articles in our Programs section and/or choose articles from our Archived Programs list and/or information from our Avenues of Service pages. You will be required to answer questions.  There is space on the makeup request form for up to three articles to be reviewed, however you will need to read more than three to meet your 30 minute visit obligation.

2

At the end of your 30 minute visit click on Make-up Request Form from the drop-down menu at top of page OR the bottom of each make-up program.

3

Read Makeup Request Form carefully, and follow instructions. A Make-Up Form will appear once you press the SUBMIT button (one time only) and an email copy will be sent to the email address you provided.

PRINT YOUR MAKE-UP FORM

Once your make-up appears, if you know the email address, you can also click on File, Send and email a copy to your club secretary.

Remember, as Greeter this week, you need to arrive at Woodstock Country Club early to greet members, visiting Rotarians, and guests.  You also provide the pre-meal prayer, check attendance, announce guests and visiting Rotarians, manage the marble drawing and provide "Fun & Frolics."  If you are unable to fulfill your greeter obligation, please contact the next person in the greeter rotation to take your place.

Stories
Musical Theater Charities of Woodstock
The creation of West Side Story is the next presentation brought to us by the Musical Theater Charities of Woodstock at the Woodstock Opera House.  Woodstock Christmas Clearing House is one of the 10 local charities who benefit from this programming.  There will be two performances on Tuesday, August 14th one at 1:30 and another at 7:00.  Please see the attached flyers for more details.

Discussion at last week’s meeting was that individuals who have been able to attend the past have been very impressed!

Future presentations:
  • August 14th – The creation of West Side Story
  • September 25th – The creation of Oklahoma!
  • October 23rd – The creation of My Fair Lady
  • November 27th – Making A List:  The secular songs of Christmas
Interact Ready to start 2018-2019 School Year
Interact is hitting the ground running as we help to welcome Creekside families back on campus for Back to School night August 14th from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.  Students will be around Creekside to help families find classrooms, locate and unlock lockers and answer questions. We are hoping to encourage even more students to participate in Interact this year and give back to their school, their community, and their world.  Students in Interact continue to actively brainstorm and seek out opportunities every day to provide service. Some of our upcoming events include Socktober, Tag Days on the Square and Coin Wars to support Christmas Clearinghouse. Students in Interact are also making it a goal to make small changes to the culture of schools and encourage positivity among their own peers as well through small on-campus activities.  Other ideas for community service are always welcome. “In a world where you can be anything, be kind.” - Unknown
Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus
And he brought his mom to the 5K.

Thanks to Wendy and her team of volunteers (Rotarians and non-Rotarians alike) our inaugural Christmas in July 5k was a big success. Nearly 125 runners raced through the streets of Woodstock, with the winning time coming in under 18 minutes. For the math challenged that is under a 6 minute mile.

Three of our fellow Rotarians medaled in their respective divisions- Bill Schuberth came in first while Pete Michling and Jackie Speciale came in second.

Some came dressed for the occasion:

Thanks to Dave Zinnen, Gene Wetzel, Roscoe Stelford, Lloyd Shaw, Jean Radford, Luke Lohmeyer, Mike Iwaniki, Lynn Fiala, Laura Cullotta, Chris Cantwell and Dave Byrnes for all their work on Sunday.
