Mimi is now well into her reign as our leader for the coming year. It's hard to realize no dinner auction, no Country Club meetings, no Exchange Students, and meetings with limited social contact for all of out members. We as Rotarians, have made a pledge to help others when we joined the club. So, we will continue to find ways to help those in need. Go back to the e-mail sent out listing those items needed by the charitable agencies in town and fill a box and drop it off at the location of your choice as a gift from the Woodstock Rotary Club. I'm sure it will be appreciated. Luke and I had the pleasure of joining Tom Rogers for a beverage 10 days ago in Crystal Lake. Tom is quite upbeat having finished his round of Chemo treatments and having met with the oncologist who told him that his treatment regimen is not just palliative but capable of destroying the cancer. He was to go for a special scan this week to show what other areas of his body were showing cancer cells. He is preaching via the internet and is recording his sermons at the church for showing on line. The hardest part for him is the fatigue factor which prevents him from getting out and exercising. He seemed really happy to be out and socializing. I wouldn't be surprised to see him at more of our First Friday Socials. We also need to keep Ann and Miles in out thoughts. It's very difficult to have these problems to begin with, but now they are really isolated from us due to the Covid issue. We can still text and call and Zoom. Cheer them up! |
