How To Complete A Make-Up

1

Read a variety of current articles in our Programs section and/or choose articles from our Archived Programs list and/or information from our Avenues of Service pages. You will be required to answer questions.  There is space on the makeup request form for up to three articles to be reviewed, however you will need to read more than three to meet your 30 minute visit obligation.

2

At the end of your 30 minute visit click on Make-up Request Form from the drop-down menu at top of page OR the bottom of each make-up program.

3

Read Makeup Request Form carefully, and follow instructions. A Make-Up Form will appear once you press the SUBMIT button (one time only) and an email copy will be sent to the email address you provided.

PRINT YOUR MAKE-UP FORM

Once your make-up appears, if you know the email address, you can also click on File, Send and email a copy to your club secretary.

Remember, as Greeter this week, you need to arrive at Olivers, to register visiting Rotarians, and guests (collect guest lunch fee of $16.00). You also provide the pre-meal prayer, check attendance, announce guests and visiting Rotarians, manage the marble drawing and provide "Fun & Frolics." If you are unable to fulfill your greeter obligation, please contact the next person in the greeter rotation to take your place.

Stories
Club business
Some events to be aware of as follows:  Sign up for Jeep Raffel ticket sales at the Farmers' Market.  Contact Tom to volunteer.  Also, we have a recycling event the 30th of April at the same location as previous.  We will be sent an e-mail sign-up sheet shortly.  The event will last from 9AM till 1PM.  Many hands will make for easy work.  We will be meeting this Friday at Napoli's Pizza place.  Don't go to Olivers.  Remember to bring any children's books for Jean and her committee as this is the final week for collection.

Easter Egg Hunt
Our club members, that volunteered to help with the city sponsored egg hunt, all seemed to survive.  The club was well represented and the event well organized.  No screaming or arguing was heard and the kids all seemed to have a good time.  Tom and his volunteers also managed to sell a few raffle tickets.  It was a chilly, windy day and by the time the hunt was over it felt good to get into warm quarters.

For those who missed Dave's announcement at the last meeting, the scholarship committee selected four scholarship recipients instead of one.  This move was approved by the board and scholarships will be given out at graduation assemblies at each of the local high schools.  The reason for the increase in recipients was simple: we have the money, and there were several very qualified applicants with a definite need.

Country Ramblings:
In-spite of the temperature, Spring is trying to get here.  The baby eagles have hatched, and the parents are busy supplying a continuous stream of food.  The Blue Birds arrived this week and are shopping for the proper house to settle in.  The Geese are sitting on eggs as are the Great Horned Owls. The Turkeys are gobbling in an effort to attract the hens.  The male gold finches are showing there yellow summer colors and the woodpeckers are drumming as their idea of a mating call.  The Robbins are looking in the snow for worms.  And the Rabbits are doing what rabbits do--multiplying like rabbits. This weekend the weather is supposed to improve with a possibility of 80 degrees.  It will be a great time to get outside.

Rember, meeting at Naps Friday.

(Natalie--I don't know about the grammar and punction, but at least I got the font and size correct.)

Literacy Committee
Each month the literacy committee purchases children's books from the Environmental Defenders to offer families who come to the Food Truck at St. Ann's church in Woodstock. The need has increased, helping over 190 families the last time. The books we buy each month only allows us to offer them to 40-50 families.

We give out books to children from toddler to tween. Do you have books your children or grandchildren are no longer interested in? Donate them to us by bringing them to our Rotary meetings throughout the month of April. Jean and Lynn will collect them each week.

UPDATE: 2022 Rotary Jeep Raffle
We have no time to slow down! Help support the committee who works so hard on our behalf! Final Grand Prize Drawing takes place on the evening of Friday, May 27 at Public House. To date, we have approximately 280 tickets still to be sold.

As we learned in the dynamic presentation a couple weeks ago - The Woodstock Rotary Foundation is why we are Rotarians. The grants we make to local nonprofits, the coats in Operation Warm, Blessings in a Backpack, youth exchange, international grants are all funded through the money raised by the Jeep Raffle.

Tickets can be purchased at https://woodstockrotarycharities.com/ or by clicking on the Jeep image above. And don't forget: please engage with our posts on social media!
