I just have to leave Buckley's Jeep Raffel reminder in as he put a lot of effort into that reminder to get with the program or we will have to cut some programs.  Congratulations to Santa Claus (Chris Cantwell) for receiving volunteer of the year at the Chamber Awards Ceremony.  Well deserved.  And then we follow up Santa Claus with the unveiling of the new Santa's Hut plans.  It appears pretty neat on paper.  Can't wait to get started on construction.  Just a few particulars about the new hut.  The trailer on which it will be built lowers so that the step up to enter will be very minimal especially after the trailer is backed over the sidewalk before lowering.  All entry will be via a ramp allowing for all users to enter unaided. The windows will allow for visual access from the outside which will make viewing of Santa's quarters possible when the hut is closed.  And of course, it will remain on the trailer for easy transport and no crane expense will be incurred to set it up. 

 

And the best part of the meeting was a presentation by Breanne's family of a check to cover the cost of all materials for the HUT.  Her family is from the area and will be able to visit the hut when done.  A big THANKYOU to Breanne and her family.  The committee will continue to make the effort to get materials donated or provided at a discounted cost but the pressure is off in regard to reaching the final cost amount.  The trailer should be arriving shortly so construction can begin.

 

First Friday was a success even though we had many events occurring that evening.  The weather was balmy, and we spent time inside and outside.  The food was good.  I don't know if they always have food available, but very tasty.

 

This Friday is a special event day.  We need to be prompt in arriving at the CC for lunch as we will be eating rapidly and then departing for a tour of the old courthouse and an update on the remodel.  Arrive early and eat fast.

 

Country Ramblings:  The past 2 days have been beautiful, and I do believe Spring has sprung.  The tulips on the square, were spectacular.  Unfortunately, they don't last very long.  The Eagles across the street are feeding babies so the local rabbit population is taking a hit.  The leaves are coming out on the trees which makes it difficult to see them.  Time to play in the garden and work out the farming blood in my system.  Plants have been started in-doors for 6 weeks and if it stays warm another couple of days, they are moving outside.
