Make-Up Online

Rotary eClub One
How To Complete A Make-Up

1

Read a variety of current articles in our Programs section and/or choose articles from our Archived Programs list and/or information from our Avenues of Service pages. You will be required to answer questions.  There is space on the makeup request form for up to three articles to be reviewed, however you will need to read more than three to meet your 30 minute visit obligation.

2

At the end of your 30 minute visit click on Make-up Request Form from the drop-down menu at top of page OR the bottom of each make-up program.

3

Read Makeup Request Form carefully, and follow instructions. A Make-Up Form will appear once you press the SUBMIT button (one time only) and an email copy will be sent to the email address you provided.

PRINT YOUR MAKE-UP FORM

Once your make-up appears, if you know the email address, you can also click on File, Send and email a copy to your club secretary.

Remember, as Greeter this week, you need to arrive early to ZOOM members, visiting Rotarians, and guests (collect guest lunch fee of $15.00).  You also provide the pre-meal prayer, check attendance, announce guests and visiting Rotarians, manage the marble drawing and provide "Fun & Frolics."  If you are unable to fulfill your greeter obligation, please contact the next person in the greeter rotation to take your place.

Stories
It's Denise!
This is Denise's week -

It was her birthday yesterday.  And this Friday she is our greeter and she is the program. She is going to be sharing her experiences as the first woman member of our club. Aask her how Jim spent his evening while she attended a Rotary meeting in England

The only was this week could have been better for her was if she had written the bulletin.
Tom Nierman - Podcast Star
Tom Nierman was a recent guest on the Left at the Light podcast -

Left at the Light is run by Matt Nelson and from his description - "Conversations with McHenry County area business owners. We learn about the history of owners and operators of local businesses. We also find out how the businesses got started and where they are going."

Take a listen and find out where Tom is going.
It's madness, madness I tell you!
For those of you who are not college basketball fans - you may have missed that March Madness is upon us. Beginning with 68 team tomorrow and ending with a National Champion on April 5, there will be Cinderella stories, heartbreak and drama. Games will be won and lost as will a ton of money in Vegas, online and in bars across the country.

For the first time since 2005, U of I - the Fighting Illini -  won the Big 10 Tournament and are now a #1 seed heading into The Big Dance!

They play #16 seed Drexel on Friday with the tip-off at 12:15 (right after we listen to Marlene's chicken play a patriotic song on the piano and before Denise's Fun and Frolics.)

And while this is big news and is probably exciting for you Illini fans - the real news is that - if they get past Drexel they could play the #9 seed - the Yellow Jackets from the mighty Georgia Institute of Technology. They are entering the national tournament hot off winning the ACC Tournament and just needs to knock off  #8 Loyola (which features Jacobs grad Cameron  Krutwig.)

This unspoken (and not even really acknowledged) rivalry that extends back to Monday morning's drawing will strain friendships - Buckley & Shaw/Lohmeyer and divide families - Cullotta - through Sunday evening.

One thing I think we can all agree on - that it is good to see Duke watch from the sidelines.

Message from Tom "The Wrangler" McGrath
We have sold 636, 364 to go...

A big thank you to Dave Byrnes & Pete Michling for manning the 1st shift at Shamrocked on Saturday.  They sold three on the spot!  Tom and Jill Nierman took the second shift and also sold three!  Tom and Debi McGrath sold two, during the third shift!  Yep, "pickle boat" for the McGraths.

All three shifts handed out a ton of flyers, and sales from that effort are why we have sold another 12 over the last two days.

Generally, the sales from flyers continue over the course of two weeks,  which is why we need your help as we continue to market the Jeep Raffle.  There are five slots still open for St. Paddy's day at Niko's.  Thank you to Laurie Lewandowski for signing up for the 1st shift from 4:00 - 6:00.  We still need two more Rotarians to help Laurie.  We also need three, from 6:00 - 8:00.

Believe it or not, it's actually kinda fun!  The most important part is handing the folks a flyer.  If you're nervous, we'll train you.  You simply ask people, "Would you like to win a Jeep?" That usually gets their attention.  Then you tell them the odds of winning something are 9 out of 1,000 and the $500 winners get thrown back into the drum.  Not everybody has $100 bills on them like Ron Jarvis, but that's when you hand them the flyer so they can buy on-line later.

Best,
Tom M.
Recycle Electronics Event
Our event at the Dorr Township Highway building has been postponed until April.  Ample time is needed to recruit the club volunteers to assist with the various needs.  Chairperson Chris Cantwell, will be reaching out to each and everyone to help with this worthwhile community event.  These events are generally very well attended so lots of help will be needed.

Stay tuned for the details and opportunity to serve!
