To continue my helpful research for Marlene, I looked on the Rotary website to see if the Raffles Hotel was one of the official convention hotels. Unfortunately the website kept spinning so I moved on, going straight to the hotel's website for information. The Raffles Hotel began as a private beach house in the 1830's and become the Hotel in the 1880's. It recently underwent an extensive renovation. It does have rooms available during the convention. There are two options - with a one way limo ride or with an included breakfast. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day so I went with that. For just 1,787.29 SGD ($1,322.69 US) per night, Marlene and Hugh can stay at the Raffles during the convention. Now, that may seem a little pricey, but if they book for two night minimum, they get - – Daily sumptuous breakfast for two at Tiffin Room
