You will be required to answer questions. There is space on the makeup request form for up to three articles to be reviewed, however you will need to read more than three to meet your 30 minute visit obligation.

At the end of your 30 minute visit click on Make-up Request Form from the drop-down menu at top of page OR the bottom of each make-up program.

Read Makeup Request Form carefully, and follow instructions. A Make-Up Form will appear once you press the SUBMIT button (one time only) and an email copy will be sent to the email address you provided.

Once your make-up appears, if you know the email address, you can also click on File, Send and email a copy to your club secretary.

Remember, as Greeter this week, you need to arrive at Woodstock Country Club, to register visiting
Rotarians, and guests (collect guest lunch fee of $20.00). You also provide the pre-meal prayer, check attendance, announce guests and visiting Rotarians, manage the marble drawing and provide "Fun & Frolics." If you are unable to fulfill your greeter obligation, please contact the next person in the greeter rotation to take your place.
Sept 11 - 7:00 - the CCH Kickoff meeting will be at Independence Health & Therapy - 2028 N. Seminary. The team leads will review and update on their areas. All are welcome to attend to listen and find their ways to be involved.
Sept 12 - Friday meeting - Jean Radford and Lynn Fiala are the presenters at Friday's meeting sharing the work they do on our club's behalf in the area of literacy. Please bring any Rotary magazines you have lying around. They include them in the bags of books they give out.
Note new date/time - This month's PI Committee is being moved to Monday, September 15 at 7:00 pm. It will still be at Sofie's. A big focus of the meeting is the fundraising efforts for Christmas Clearing House.
At Friday's meeting, Olga Ortiz of Hispanic Connections shared all the great happenings this Sunday (Sept 14) for the Mexican Independence Day Celebration. The celebration runs from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm and featuers a horse parade that had over 100 horses last year (they are limiting the number of horses this year - 100 horses are a lot to clean up after,) food trucks (30 different trucks - more than the Food Truck Fest. Per Olga, if you like tacos - and who doesn't - there will be plenty of choices,) music, cultural showcases and much more.
Last year, the event had 8,000 attendees and is the largest event on the Square - and per Joe Fiala, the best one.
School is back in session and that means so is Fueling Futures. Gene Wetzel shared pictures from his and his wife Adele's food run last week. Just a reminder, Gene and Adele, Jackie Speciale and other Rotarians go shopping every week to purchase perishable and other foods to provide to families at Woodstock High School and Woodstock North. Last year, we provided 25,000 meals through the school year.

If you missed last week's Woodstock Independent, it was the topic of conversation - and Larry Hanson's Happy Bucks - at Friday's meeting.
One of the feature articles was "Daughters join Parents as Educators" - multigenerational families teaching in D200 including Georgia Wicker, Breanne Pfrank Wicker's stepdaughter. In the article, Georgia named Diana Frisbie, her first grade teacher as her inspiration to get into education. (Side note - Diana drove Georgia's mom Wendy to the hospital when she was in labor with Georgia, so Diana has been there since Day 1.)
And there was a Flashback photo from 1995 of Luke Lohmeyer and Kent Frisbie celebrating being named the Pekin Insurance Agency of the Year. You may not recognize Luke as he is sporting the darkest beard I have ever seen.
Larry threw in Happy Bucks in honor of those Rotarians and spoke from the heart - as only Larry can - about his pride to be part of our club, because Woodstock Rotarians are featured in the Independent every week in one form or another - and not in the Blotter!
September 11 (Thursday): Christmas Clearing House (CCH) meeting at 7:00 p.m. at Independence Health & Therapy.
September 12 (Friday): Ladies of Rotary (members; partners; friends; spouses) will be “taking a hike.” LOL. Join in a Lake Geneva area walk / hike following the regular noon meeting. Details were sent by Laura Cullotta via email on August 31. Look for the subject line: “Rotary Ladies Hike” for all the details.
September 15 (Monday): Our PI (Public Image) Committee meets at 7:00P at Sofie’s (Note new time.)
September 21 (Sunday) is “Taste of Evanston” (full details here) hosted by the Evanston Lighthouse Rotary Club. Can’t attend? Think about buying a raffle ticket or two on the website.
October 4 (Saturday): Al Schmitt’s “Rockin’ Barn Party” that we are all invited to each year! Music, friends (old & new), food, good times. More details will come soon from Al, so stay tuned!
October 10 (Friday): Our Rotary Club’s Golf Event (follows the regular lunch on that date). Stay tuned for more details and information from Al & Lynn.
Our very own John Hegner has two upcoming performances, so mark your calendars for Saturday, November 1 and Saturday, December 6. The November 1 performance is at Woodstock Opera House (where he’ll perform some original music (listen to some here)) and the December 6 performance is at Stage Left (where he and Cassandra Vohs-Demann will sing some holiday-themed melodies).
November 26, 28, 29 (Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday): Tag Days. We will definitely need volunteers. Remember, this is a great way to engage with other groups, friends, family members. Youth / church groups would make for great volunteers, so if you know of anyone in and around town who would be wonderful at helping on Tag Days, start those conversations now.
December 20 (Saturday): “D-Day” = Delivery Day for Christmas Clearing House (CCH). All hands on deck! What is D-Day? What is CCH? Come to the September 11 meeting for all the information!

September 25 (Thursday): Charity Burger Night at The Woodstock Moose Lodge to benefit Christmas Clearing House! Come out for some delicious burgers prepared by incredible volunteers from Moose. Order and take ‘em to-go, or stick around for some great fun, conversation, and camaraderie.
September 27 (Saturday): Woodstock Late Night Flea Market Fest; 3P – midnight; McHenry County Fairgrounds; $5 admission; find all the details here.
