How To Complete A Make-Up

Read a variety of current articles in our Programs section and/or choose articles from our Archived Programs list and/or information from our Avenues of Service pages. You will be required to answer questions.  There is space on the makeup request form for up to three articles to be reviewed, however you will need to read more than three to meet your 30 minute visit obligation.

At the end of your 30 minute visit click on Make-up Request Form from the drop-down menu at top of page OR the bottom of each make-up program.

Read Makeup Request Form carefully, and follow instructions. A Make-Up Form will appear once you press the SUBMIT button (one time only) and an email copy will be sent to the email address you provided.

PRINT YOUR MAKE-UP FORM

Once your make-up appears, if you know the email address, you can also click on File, Send and email a copy to your club secretary.

Remember, as Greeter this week, you need to arrive early to ZOOM members, visiting Rotarians, and guests (collect guest lunch fee of $15.00).  You also provide the pre-meal prayer, check attendance, announce guests and visiting Rotarians, manage the marble drawing and provide "Fun & Frolics."  If you are unable to fulfill your greeter obligation, please contact the next person in the greeter rotation to take your place.

HOW DUMB CAN WE BE?
With what has been happening in our country since the start of the so called COVID 19 Pandemic and all the mandates that seem to change daily and seemingly make no sense such as the rule that to go into a restaurant you need to wear a mask, but as soon as you sit down to order your food your can remove your mask. How does this virus know when it is supposed to infect us. Does it really know the difference between 6 feet and 7 feet?  These are just questions to ponder, but the following are two real life situations that show us just how smart some people really can be.  
When his 38 caliber pistol failed to fire at his intended victim during a hold up in Long Beach, CA would robber James Ellliot did something that can only inspire wonder. He peered down the barrel and tried the trigger again. This time it worked.
Here is another example of clever some people can be.  An American teenager was in the hospital recovering from serious head wounds received from an oncoming train. When asked how he received the injuries, the boy told police he was simply trying to see how close he could get his head to a moving train before he was hit.  These incidents might explain why nothing really makes sense in our world any more. I hope this gave a few of you a few laughs so you can more easily put up with this world we are living in.  
Club news
CCH Committee meeting was held via Zoom last night and John led committee members in a discussion of many items dealing with CCH.  It's a great program and we are making plans for next year combining procedures from the past with our changes in operations this past year.  The project leaders are doing a terrific job planning for another successful event.  Remembering how it all started and now facing a $75,000 budget for the project is truly amazing.  What a wonderful project that exemplifies the ideals of Rotary.
 
Ortman's has volunteered to host a fund raising event for us probably some time in July.  If anyone has ideas for a fund raising activity to be held at the event, please let John know.  He is going to be meeting with the Ortmans to discuss the event.
This will probably replace our Christmas in July run through Woodstock.
 
Country Ramblings:  Warm weather is here and the outdoors is showing it's Spring Fashion.  The flowering trees and the early Spring  bulbs are a welcome site.  We even have sound effects.  This morning I went outside early and could plainly hear a Turkey gobbling, Sandhill Cranes booming, Geese honking and a variety of song birds singing.  None of these big birds were around here when I grew up.  And the real bonus this year is we have a pair of Eagles nesting in the Conservation Property across the road from our house.  We have a telescope set up aimed at the nest and we have been watching the parents raise the youngsters.  Neat!  I saw an article the other day stating that the population of nesting Eagles in the US was in the hundreds at one time and is now in the 10's of thousands.  Nice recovery once DDT was banned.
 
Get out and walk and sell tickets.  It will make Tim's toe feel better if we sell out the tickets.

Every ticket sold is more food for the Blessings in a Backpack; it's more books and more coats and gloves and hats for the kids in our schools, funds for the different nonprofits that serve Woodstock. It's scholarships for RYLA and for high school seniors going to college. Every ticket sold is impact on our community - here in Woodstock and all over the world.

Pump up the volume!  What is the song you play to get moving, jacked up and going?  Who is your favorite musical artist/group?  Who was your favorite in high school/college?
What artist/group do you appreciate more now than you did when you were in high school/college?  What is your favorite lyric from a song?  Be aware that some songs and or lyrics will be redacted!
RAP songs will be cause for immediate disqualification.  Heck, 80% of the lyrics would have to be redacted anyway.  Disco songs will earn a bonus point and quite possibly certain Flogging Molly songs.  Songs with beer, dogs, pickup trucks, make up and break up lyrics earn major bonus points, especially if sung by an artist named Luke…  Certain songs by Pat Benatar, Looking Glass, Elton John, David Bowie and Aerosmith to name a few will be heavily reviewed for content appropriateness.  Remember:  I didn’t write the lyrics-you just misinterpreted them! Bahahaha!
