Make-Up Online

Rotary eClub One
How To Complete A Make-Up

1

Read a variety of current articles in our Programs section and/or choose articles from our Archived Programs list and/or information from our Avenues of Service pages. You will be required to answer questions.  There is space on the makeup request form for up to three articles to be reviewed, however you will need to read more than three to meet your 30 minute visit obligation.

2

At the end of your 30 minute visit click on Make-up Request Form from the drop-down menu at top of page OR the bottom of each make-up program.

3

Read Makeup Request Form carefully, and follow instructions. A Make-Up Form will appear once you press the SUBMIT button (one time only) and an email copy will be sent to the email address you provided.

PRINT YOUR MAKE-UP FORM

Once your make-up appears, if you know the email address, you can also click on File, Send and email a copy to your club secretary.

Remember, as Greeter this week, you need to arrive early to greet members, visiting Rotarians, and guests (collect guest lunch fee of $15.00).  You also provide the pre-meal prayer, check attendance, announce guests and visiting Rotarians, manage the marble drawing and provide "Fun & Frolics."  If you are unable to fulfill your greeter obligation, please contact the next person in the greeter rotation to take your place.

Stories
Club happenings
We are in strange times to say the least.  So we need to make the most of it by staying healthy and doing what we can to help others.  Jackie has already mentioned a shortage of blood.  The food depositories need food as well as volunteers to help with distribution.  Call your friends and relatives that you haven't spoken to, in some cases, years and catch up.  Be cheery and positive.  Everybody needs groceries so a trip to the grocery store is a necessity at some time.  It is a great opportunity to call elderly neighbors and get a shopping list from them and do their shopping.  Drop the groceries on the door-step and save them the chance of exposure.  Get out old pictures and scrap books and review the days gone by with family.  Get to know your family by playing games and putting together jig saw puzzles.  Good time to wash walls and maybe tackle some inside painting.  Stay active.

As the weather gets better, get outside and walk safely.  Find park trails at conservation districts and enjoy the exercise.  Clean out the flower beds and spread some mulch.  Good time to get those flower bulbs in the ground.  And if you don't normally garden, it might be a good time to start.  Good family project.  Cut some of those potatoes that have gotten soft and grown appendages and put them in the ground.  New potatoes by the 4th of July.  Good shared project with the kids.  And don't forget to plant some flowers for the Hummingbirds and the Bees.

As is the Friday noon norm, join the club meeting via Zoom at 12 sharp.  Technology is helping to keep us together.  Stay safe and relax.
A first
(Yes - the Bulletin writer knows the photo is sideways.)

Last Friday was a historical moment for our Club - our first ever virtual meeting. It was a great first.

Like a regular meeting - some of us showed up a little (or a lot) late. Some of us ducked out early. A couple people complained about their lunch. Just another Friday in Rotary.

There were some differences - There was no greeter and no marble drawing for me to lose; Luke and Kent showed up separately; we didn't sing (although what we do may not be called singing)

The Bulletin writer obviously doesn't understand how this works and went to the Country Club for the meeting.

As we head into another month of shelter in place orders, this is a great way to get together and keep the fellowship going.
Our Club Responds
Members of our Club have been working to coordinate our efforts to respond the community's needs created by CoVid19.

These Rotary Champions are reaching out to the identified organization to let them know we care and are here and may be able to help with unmet needs. The organizations and their champions are:

American Red Cross - Mimi M/Laura C
Woodstock Food Pantry - Mimi M
D200 - Jackie S
Northern Illinois Food Bank - Jackie S
Blessings in a Backpack - Jackie S
TLS - Mike I/Paul G
Helping Paws - Joe S
Turning Point - Jackie S
Home of the Sparrow - Jean R
Project Front Line - The Rotary Board

Woodstock Food Pantry
The Woodstock Food Pantry is need of volunteers!

Chris and Steve volunteered last week but the need is increasing and they are looking for more help on each shift.

They are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  The shifts are from 9am-12pm and from 12pm-3pm.

To sign up call Karen Myers at 815-338-2237.  She asked that Rotarians call her directly because she has the calendar in front of her.

Also please let Mimi know when you are scheduled.
