How To Complete A Make-Up

1

Read a variety of current articles in our Programs section and/or choose articles from our Archived Programs list and/or information from our Avenues of Service pages. You will be required to answer questions.  There is space on the makeup request form for up to three articles to be reviewed, however you will need to read more than three to meet your 30 minute visit obligation.

2

At the end of your 30 minute visit click on Make-up Request Form from the drop-down menu at top of page OR the bottom of each make-up program.

3

Read Makeup Request Form carefully, and follow instructions. A Make-Up Form will appear once you press the SUBMIT button (one time only) and an email copy will be sent to the email address you provided.

PRINT YOUR MAKE-UP FORM

Once your make-up appears, if you know the email address, you can also click on File, Send and email a copy to your club secretary.

Remember, as Greeter this week, you need to arrive early to ZOOM members, visiting Rotarians, and guests (collect guest lunch fee of $15.00).  You also provide the pre-meal prayer, check attendance, announce guests and visiting Rotarians, manage the marble drawing and provide "Fun & Frolics."  If you are unable to fulfill your greeter obligation, please contact the next person in the greeter rotation to take your place.

The Little Raffle That Could
We are headed into the home stretch! Just 227 raffle tickets to go!

Thanks to everyone who has helped out so far. If you haven't had your chance (and you know who you are,) don't worry there are several opportunities left for you to sell in person. Maybe you could be the lucky person to sell (or buy) the 1,000th ticket.

Sign up at one of the remaining shifts below:

Every ticket sold is more food for the Blessings in a Backpack; it's more books and more coats and gloves and hats for the kids in our schools, funds for the different nonprofits that serve Woodstock. It's scholarships for RYLA and for high school seniors going to college. Every ticket sold is impact on our community - here in Woodstock and all over the world.
The Little Recycling Event that Did
Chris Cantwell asked that this be included in this week's Bulletin - (Editor's note - the Club owes a thanks to Chris for spearheading a new project for us in Rotary's newest area of service. While the people below absolutely contributed to the success of the event, it was his vision under his leadership that pulled it together. As is the standard with our Club - Go Team!)

I would like to thank the E-Recycling Team!

By the Numbers we filled almost 30 Pallets and Gaylords with Electronics that are destined for recycling so the bits and pieces that can be harvested for reuse and the rest is properly disposed of rather than a Landfill or even worse a Roadside Ditch.

Inventory is being taken and there may indeed be some Funds that were raised at the event, we did receive some small donations from people that wanted to support our efforts and that were glad to be rid of things that were serving no further purpose for them.

First in line for Thanks John forever now known as: “The Weatherman” Buckley. He put in an order for the best weather to be expected in the Spring of the year and delivered after casting his dice and bones on that Shaman Cloth.  He hasn’t always been as effective for CCH… but he scored for 2020 and maintained his roll.

Natalie Ziemba managed the Marketing and Promotion and ever so many other details.  I am a dedicated Fan!  She has proven her Energy as one of Santa’s most energetic Elves and positively bubbles.  A key player in any of our projects not just behind a Computer Screen but puts on the boots and gloves and digs in.  Thanks also to Tom… for coming along and being involved lifting heavy loads early in planning and there also on the day of the event

Gene Wetzel ran the Front Gate Handing out Jeep Raffle Flyers and setting the Contributors on the right path with a winning smile and firm directional hand waves. Following the Orange Cone Road.

Alder/Behr Recycling Placed a Company Volunteer at the split in the event we got backed up.  The good news it was another smiling face and further greeting and thank you to those contributors bringing their electronic waste and more than a few batteries both Household and Lead Cores We saw a few large kitchen appliances and Behr was there to cover them. Thanks Shawna!

Al Schmitt worked with Gene but then took over the 2nd induction line in the early going. Al brings a wealth of CCH Logistics experience and a watchful eye for any hole that needed to be plugged.

Brianne Pfrank lead the Cash Collection Effort based on the Intake Sheet Inventory Assessments those funds were turned over to Roscoe Stelford for Deposit and a check to be cut to Prodige Recycling for the TV’s and CRT Monitors. Also providing a worker bee with a strong back and a willingness to serve.

Shawna Young our Future President lead the Team on the 1st Intake Line… her knowledge in the Recycling Business was not to be ignored… We are blessed as a club to have her as incoming president, and a key player for this event… I see great things in our Future.

Mimi Motroni got the District Inflatable Wheel and put in tireless effort behind the scenes like all great leaders and Presidents do… Thanks You Mimi for your Service and as I recall you brought a worker bee with you.

Lloyd Shaw was in Early and helped with Set Up and stayed as long as he could…  all hands were welcome.

Mike Iwaniki came and was immediately dispatched to secure more Pallets because we were going to run out… these came from MAC Engineering.

Jackie Speciale Club Service personified always a great hand. Got the Gaylords Labeled so that it was easier to sort like items for the many hands that were pulling items off truck beds and car trunks. She Came up with the additional Pallets that we needed none of which went to waste. That she found time in an always over loaded schedule for this event is appreciated.

Larry Hansen came along on the Walk through but couldn’t be at the event… something about a Wedding on the same date that required his presence… but he was a Cheer Leader and a reminder that some of our longest members while not able to attend their thoughts and best wishes were being sent in their stead.

Thanks to Dorr Township Highway Department for the use of the Storage Area until final pickup could be made on Monday… the Use of the Forklifts made this event possible… it is the only way to deal with the size and weight of some of these devices especially after the pallets are loaded.

Thanks to Dave Zinnen for stepping in and Volunteering but also for helping us secure the Davis Road Soccer Field Parking Lot with the City of Woodstock for the Event… it’s size was right for this event and made routing traffic off the road possible lending time to inventory and unload in a more comfortable environment

Thanks to our Local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and Scout Troop 159 they came to lend a hand with 2 adult leaders and about a dozen kids toward this volunteer effort thanks to Garrett Anderson who could not be in attendance, but his urging brought out the extra hands.

Under the Sea

This year the high schools are doing prom a little differently. Woodstock and Woodstock North are hosting a joint prom in the Woodstock Square. And through the work of Jackie and Community Service our club is sponsoring the event with $1,000. Our support helps offset the costs for the food, tent, and dj. The food is coming from Public House, La Placita and Sugar Circle. It has been a tough year for the students with no real fundraising to support their prom. We get to support them while they support our local restaurants.

And something else is coming clear. Luke was asking the Club for songs under the guise of future fun & frolics. Really he is dusting off the turntable, breaking out the blue suit with the superfly lapels, the ruffle shirt and the big bowtie and spinning some tunes for the high schoolers. He is using us to build the set list. Genius! I already hear a little The Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult, perhaps Led Zepplin's Stairway to Heaven, Boogie Wonderland by Earth Wind and Fire and for those Disco affiiciando's ABBA's Dancing Queen and Stayin Alive by the incomparable BeeGees. The kids will LOVE it!

(I was able to find a couple photos from Luke's prom.)
Coming Soon:  Rotary Grammy Awards
Did you get your answers into Luke?  He is fun & frolics in four weeks!

Pump up the volume!  What is the song you play to get moving, jacked up and going?  Who is your favorite musical artist/group?  Who was your favorite in high school/college?
What artist/group do you appreciate more now than you did when you were in high school/college?  What is your favorite lyric from a song?  Be aware that some songs and or lyrics will be redacted!
RAP songs will be cause for immediate disqualification.  Heck, 80% of the lyrics would have to be redacted anyway.  Disco songs will earn a bonus point and quite possibly certain Flogging Molly songs.  Songs with beer, dogs, pickup trucks, make up and break up lyrics earn major bonus points, especially if sung by an artist named Luke…  Certain songs by Pat Benatar, Looking Glass, Elton John, David Bowie and Aerosmith to name a few will be heavily reviewed for content appropriateness.  Remember:  I didn’t write the lyrics-you just misinterpreted them! Bahahaha!
Email me your answers.
