Dianna commented after the meeting how relieved she was to get the first "fine Master" speech over with. One would have never guessed she was nervous. Having taught school all those years came in handy. Nice job Dianna! Great addition to our club. Another Jeep Event this Friday to be held at Sophie's. We will be drawing to give away some more money. Keep selling those tickets. Starts at 5:30 with the drawing at 6:00. Everyone doesn't take time to read the Rotary Magazine, but there is some good stuff between the pages. The main article was about the amount of food that goes to waste. Here are a few statistics. One third of all food sold in the US goes to waste! One half of all wasted food comes from homes with the other half from restaurants, factories, farms, and other sources. 60% of methane gas released by landfills in the US, comes from fermenting food and drink. 25% of cafeteria waste is liquids in the form of half-drunk milk and untouched milk. The best way to prevent waste is meal plan and then shop for what you need for each meal. Food for thought. A reminder that we will be meeting at the Opera House this 'Friday. Food will be catered, and a tour of the facility will given. |
