How To Complete A Make-Up

1

Read a variety of current articles in our Programs section and/or choose articles from our Archived Programs list and/or information from our Avenues of Service pages. You will be required to answer questions.  There is space on the makeup request form for up to three articles to be reviewed, however you will need to read more than three to meet your 30 minute visit obligation.

2

At the end of your 30 minute visit click on Make-up Request Form from the drop-down menu at top of page OR the bottom of each make-up program.

3

Read Makeup Request Form carefully, and follow instructions. A Make-Up Form will appear once you press the SUBMIT button (one time only) and an email copy will be sent to the email address you provided.

PRINT YOUR MAKE-UP FORM

Once your make-up appears, if you know the email address, you can also click on File, Send and email a copy to your club secretary.

Stories
Hello Woodstock Rotarians!
A doctor stated on WGN news stated that humor is an excellent elixir during times of high anxiety.  High anxiety weakens the immune system and leaves us more vulnerable to you know what.
Did you notice what time this email was sent?  YES! 12:10 pm and everyone was on time.  No scooting please…Hang in there and read the entire bulletin!
DING!
Now for my country tis of thee (music playing in background accompanied by off key singing).
Prayer:  Thank you Lord for giving us the strength, ways and means to handle everything that comes our way.  We as Rotarians are fortunate individuals.  Put us to your use.  Amen.
Excuse me while I finish chewing my lunch…HEY what’s everyone eating today?  Fish?  Are you able to find fish in the store?  Or did you sneak out and go fishing…  Or here is another idea:

Club news and humor
Was everyone able to vote in the primary?  Schools closed.  Bars closed.  Restaurants’ closed; gaming terminals shut down.  Election…???  Other states postponed their primary.  IL should have too.
Emergen C powder  Plus your favorite liquid = Quarantini!  Heard that one on Jimmy Fallon.

From our President Marlene:
As many have said, we are in unprecedented times, facing a rapidly changing situation. I want to update you on a few evolving situations:
  1. CLUB MEETINGS - Due to the Governor's order closing all restaurants and bars through the end of March, the March 27th meeting will be cancelled as well. The board will meet this Friday morning and we will discuss possible alternatives should these closures continue into April.
  2. FIFTIES FUNDRAISER - Our spring fundraiser falls within the CDC's 8-week period to cancel all events over 50 people. We will POSTPONE our May 9th fundraiser until later this year. The committee is working with the fairgrounds to identify an alternate date. Please watch for more details.
  3. CHRISTMAS IN JULY 5K - We have decided to put this event on hiatus for the year. While the date is well outside the cancellation guidelines, to make this event a success, we would need to be soliciting sponsorships right now, and it seems like a very bad time to approach most local businesses for donations.
In the meantime, Jackie is working on some possibilities for service projects in conjunction with the Red Cross, which would be operated within all CDC and State guidelines. Please watch your emails for more details.
I'll repeat that last line - please watch your email, as this is the easiest way to communicate a changing situation in unknown territory. Please be safe and stay healthy!
Yours in Service,
Marlene

From our Club Service director Laura C:
The calendar has been updated for the Buckley's meal train.
MORE HUMOR
Back to a bit of humor (Understand that there is not a team of writers assisting, just plagerization):
Employers are limiting in-person interviews. Be more expressive in your phone interview.

When interviewing on-site, be respectful of your potential employer’s Visitor Policy.
The “Interview Attire?” question is easy to answer.

Of course, you don’t want to bribe the HR or hiring manager, but it is always nice to bring a small gift to the interview.

Some companies are holding face-to-face interviews with each party remaining in his car, using a cellphone.  Although you might be very excited about the job opportunity, it’s best to follow your prospective employer’s directions for the interview format.

Lastly, a hand-written thank-you note is always a good idea, but keep your prospective employer’s safety concerns in mind when sending.

Be Smart.  Be Safe.  And, as usual, live Service above Self.

Now get off your duff, STAND and recite the 4-way test.  Ding.
