How To Complete A Make-Up

1

Read a variety of current articles in our Programs section and/or choose articles from our Archived Programs list and/or information from our Avenues of Service pages. You will be required to answer questions.  There is space on the makeup request form for up to three articles to be reviewed, however you will need to read more than three to meet your 30 minute visit obligation.

2

At the end of your 30 minute visit click on Make-up Request Form from the drop-down menu at top of page OR the bottom of each make-up program.

3

Read Makeup Request Form carefully, and follow instructions. A Make-Up Form will appear once you press the SUBMIT button (one time only) and an email copy will be sent to the email address you provided.

PRINT YOUR MAKE-UP FORM

Once your make-up appears, if you know the email address, you can also click on File, Send and email a copy to your club secretary.

Stories
The Rotary Global Rewards
One of the perks of Rotary membership is the Global Rewards Program.  I was thumbing thru the March Rotarian magazine and found an interesting article about a program that I was not aware of that Rotary offers to its members.
Through the Global Rewards program, Rotary and Rotaract members can take advantage of discounts on car rentals, hotels, dining, entertainment, and a wide variety of other products and services.  (Amazon .com, Marriott, Office Depot, Hertz, and Macy's are a few of the businesses that participate) Many of the participants also donate a percentage back to Rotary.
Rotarians can help build this program by adding offers from their own businesses or from other business in their communities. There are three components to the Global Rewards.  1.  The value received by Rotary members in the form of discounts etc. because of their membership in Rotary. 2. When you purchase something through the Global Rewards, very often there is a give back to Rotary. This is usually 1-5% of the transaction which you were going o buy anyway. You get a discount and Rotary gets a benefit. 3. Rotarians using Global Rewards to advertise or offer their businesses and services to other Rotarians. It works almost like a directory for Rotary. This is kind of like it was when Rotary first started. Club members  would rotate through businesses of members to understand what each person did and get to know them better and support their members .
A new smartphone app and Chrome extension make it easier to find the offers you are looking for. Find the Rotary Global rewards app on the Apple App Store or Google Play.  find out more information at      rotary.org/globalrewards.    This is just one more of the rewards when we put "Service Above Self".
Back Home at the Country Club
We return to the WCC after the winter hiatus and will be served by a new chef and a new club manager.  Our new manager will be the former behind the bar girl, Leslie.  It will be good to see her back at the club.  We are fortunate to have a nice space to hold our meetings and enjoy each others company.
Interact Update
This year Creekside Middle School has been the home of Rotary's Interact program.  The goals for the program this year have been to provide opportunities for the students at Creekside to get involved not only in their school but in their community.  The group is made up of 12-15 students in grades 6 - 8 with dreams of making positive change.  So far  students have raised money alongside Woodstock Rotary for Christmas Clearinghouse with Tag days, facilitating Coin Wars in the building and raising over $1,000 to buy gifts.  The students then designed and executed "Purple Pinky Friday" in which they raised money to have eradicate Polio internationally.  This fundraiser brought in nearly $200 which was matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.  This month the students are focusing on Random Acts of Kindness, spreading kindness around the school.  The Interact Club hopes to continue making positive change in their school and their community with other upcoming opportunities for Earth Day and beyond.
