How To Complete A Make-Up

1

Read a variety of current articles in our Programs section and/or choose articles from our Archived Programs list and/or information from our Avenues of Service pages. You will be required to answer questions.  There is space on the makeup request form for up to three articles to be reviewed, however you will need to read more than three to meet your 30 minute visit obligation.

2

At the end of your 30 minute visit click on Make-up Request Form from the drop-down menu at top of page OR the bottom of each make-up program.

3

Read Makeup Request Form carefully, and follow instructions. A Make-Up Form will appear once you press the SUBMIT button (one time only) and an email copy will be sent to the email address you provided.

PRINT YOUR MAKE-UP FORM

Once your make-up appears, if you know the email address, you can also click on File, Send and email a copy to your club secretary.

Remember, as Greeter this week, you need to arrive at Woodstock Country Club early to greet members, visiting Rotarians, and guests (collect guest lunch fee of $14.00).  You also provide the pre-meal prayer, check attendance, announce guests and visiting Rotarians, manage the marble drawing and provide "Fun & Frolics."  If you are unable to fulfill your greeter obligation, please contact the next person in the greeter rotation to take your place.

Hurricane Relief Efforts
It seems that the Hurricanes in Florida and North Carolina happened a long time ago. For the people living in the affected area it is still just the beginning of the recovery and rebuild from all the damage. The schools in some of the areas just started about a week ago and homes in the area are still no where near being repaired even for those with the money to pay for the work.  District 6440 is asking for donations for help in the rebuilding process. If you look at the District news letter, there is an article explaining how to make donations thru our District 6440 Charitable Foundation. Our charitable foundation is a 501 C 3 and any moneys are tax deductible . Donations can be made by logging on to the District web site and clicking on the Charitable foundation link.  Donations can be earmarked for either or both of the hurricane affected areas. Any donations to the Foundation will be administered our district and will channeled thru Rotary clubs or Rotarians in  the area.  For anyone wishing to travel to the affected areas there is a possibility of a hands on work mission. If you are interested volunteering you can contact me and if there is enough interest among members of our district we will try to get something  started. Last year we were invited to participate with Greater Barrington Area Hurricane Relief Association. I just found out a couple weeks ago that I am still the District 6440 Disaster Relief Liaison. Apparently I will have this job until I get it done right, so please open up your hearts and pocket books and donate generously . The next disaster relief effort will probably be centered on the fires in California but nothing can be done from our perspective until the fires are under control.  The affected areas will be trying to rebuild and recover from the damage for years to come. For some perspective  on the level of a damage, my son lives in North Carolina about 10 miles from Wilmington which was central target of the hurricane. It is estimated that  the cleanup just to clear fallen trees in the area will cost at least 15 million dollars and will have work crews working 15 hours daily until the end of March 2019.  Bill Schuberth
Food Truck
This Friday is food truck day so try to plan a little extra time to help out before  returning to work after this Friday's meeting. It is supposedly going to be a  little warmer in the next couple of days.
More Tag Days
It is important to fill a position on Tag Days, but it is even more beneficial to tag in person and not send out employees in your place.  As members of the community our faces are recognizable and this increases the donations.  It seems that some people will start to walk past a tagger and then recognize a face and feel more comfortable in giving.....or maybe too embarrassed to not donate.  So dress warmly and put in your time.

Kudos to Thomas for jumping right into the life as a foreign exchange student.  He is very much at ease and this makes it much easier for strangers to interact with him.  We are very lucky to have him with us.  Remember we need host families.

So the weatherman says that snow is not far away.  So get out the bird feeder and put it in a sunny spot near some bushes or evergreens for shelter.  The birds like to have cover near the feeder so that they can hide from hawks between bouts of feeding.  Also remember that once you start to feed the birds they become dependent on that as a food source.  So you must continue to feed once you start.  Another help for them is a source of water.  Get an electric heat block for the bird bath and keep fresh water available for them.
TAG Days Are Here!
The time has come to help Juanita and fill all of these spots for TAG Days.  Sign up and pass the information on.
