2023 ADULT VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS

SUMMARY

The Adult Vocational Scholarship Application is available at www.rotaryclubofwoodstock.com (the right side of this page).

It is the desire of The ROTARY Club of Woodstock to invest resources in the educational advancement of individuals for the skills necessary to develop a vocation or trade. This is a fundamental benefit to our society and an essential part of a productive community.

The Adult Vocational Scholarship is to provide educational opportunities for men and women who are preparing for careers that require LESS THAN A FOUR-YEAR DEGREE (Associate Degree, Diploma or Certificate) in order to enter into those careers and become successful and productive. The Rotary Club of Woodstock is offering a scholarship(s) for a possible minimum award of $1,000.00 and a maximum award of $2,000.00.

Scholarships will be awarded as determined by the ROTARY Club of Woodstock to adult students enrolled in a vocational degree or certificate program at an accredited school. This award will be used for tuition only, NOT for fees, books, tools, supplies, food, travel or personal expense.  The scholarship funds will be paid directly to the institution that the applicant has chosen to attend.

Adult students must use all of the scholarship funds in the same academic year (for Fall and Spring Semesters) in which the funds are awarded (no funds will be “reserved” for incomplete years or future use).  Adult students are to provide enrollment notification and a copy of their tuition bill/invoice (with student name and identification number) immediately upon Fall Semester registration.

REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible, an adult student must live within Woodstock Community School District #200 and be at least 25 years of age or older.  Applications must include:  current resume, two (2) letters of reference, community college transcript, if any, and a copy of the applicant’s Driver’s License (or other photo identification determined to be acceptable) in order to qualify.  Omission of these items will result in a denial of the application.

All applicants for the adult scholarship are required to be present for a face-to-face interview at a time and date to be determined in order to qualify for the scholarship funds.

DEADLINE

Applications must be post marked on or before Friday July 7, 2023.
